THIS IS FOR GRAVEYARD SHIFT - starts at 10:00pm
PURPOSE:
AOI technician to support fine tuning AOI programs during the day shift.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES / DUTIES:
Support AOI by creating programs to support the production report and provide process instructions for manufacturing.
Design and optimize manufacturing flow; responsible for driving and preparing manufacturing instructions (process, assembly, rework).
Improve yield and quality through process efficiency, reducing scrap and cycle time. Set headcount requirements. Drive continuous process improvements to achieve quality by process, not inspection.
Understand customer expectations and take action to meet them.
Make decisions to support quick turnaround on samples.
Coordinate supply chain procurement activities in support of engineering builds.
Prepare, publish, and review DFX reports with key customer representatives, including issues found and resolved during development, yield reports, and analysis.
Transfer new products, processes, tooling, equipment, and technology to/from other sites.
Maintain the Process Development schedule, tracking activities leading to product process introductions.
Work independently on problems of moderate scope, exercising judgment within established procedures.
Interact regularly with peers and immediate management.
Set and achieve objectives and goals.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1-5 years of hands-on process engineering experience in the PCBA assembly environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (nice to have skills):
Experience and in-depth knowledge in SMT, PTH, Mechanical assembly/system build, and writing process instructions.
Knowledge of PCB laminates, lead-free soldering, cleaning processes, conformal coating, and robotic dispensing.
Experience with solder printers, SPI, AOI, AXI, wave soldering, and BGA rework machines.
Knowledge of soldering materials, process, temperature profiling, and debugging soldering issues, with IPC and J-STD standards.
Familiarity with statistical methods (SPC, GRR, DOE) for problem solving and process capability evaluation.
Experience in equipment qualification and process validation (IQ, PQ, OQ).
Experience with PPAP requirements is a plus.
Experience collaborating with component suppliers for root cause analysis is a plus.
Team-oriented, hands-on attitude, self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to execute responsibilities independently, with guidance on new projects.
Excellent skills in math, verbal communication, troubleshooting, and problem solving in electronics manufacturing environment are a plus.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Green/Black Belt certification is a plus.
EDUCATION OR TRAINING: BS/MS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
