George Fox University's Murdock Library is looking for an Archives Assistant to help with telling the University's story while assisting department researchers, training work-study students, accession new materials, and engaging with our constituents.
About the Job:
The Murdock Library holds the records of the University and the Northwest Yearly Meeting of Friends, as well as some collections of personal papers.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
A day in the life of this position:
On a typical day the Archives Assistant might work with patrons researching in the archives in person, through email, and over the phone. Every day will bring new mysteries to solve and questions to answer. This individual will supervise student employees and volunteers, collaborate with colleagues on instruction, and find new ways to introduce the archives to the community. They will also connect with donors to develop the archives, supervise the processing, arrangement, and cataloging of collections, and develop online resources to enhance the access to the historical records.
