This is a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty appointment. The duration of the appointment is for three years and it is renewable. We seek a scholar who will complement existing department strengths and contribute to teaching and advising needs in the MA program in Criminology, the undergraduate Criminal Justice major/minor, and the Law and Society minor, which are all housed in the department. We are particularly interested in applicants whose work is rooted in a critical, anti-racist, social justice framework. The successful candidate will be eligible to serve as Director of Undergraduate Studies or Graduate Studies; this position entails a significant service commitment. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Teach 5 courses per academic year (specialization open), plus scholarly activity and service. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD in Sociology or related field by the time of appointment. Candidates must provide evidence of excellence in teaching; interest and experience in student support, advising, and/or administration; and scholarly promise through publications and/or unpublished manuscripts in progress.
