Position Title: CNC Machine Operator
Wage: $20/hour
Shift: Day
Hours: 4 10-hour shifts Monday-Thursday
The CNC Operator is responsible for the precise setup and operation of machinery to manufacture parts and components. This role involves interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate tools and materials, and ensuring the efficient and safe operation of CNC machines. Quality control, tool maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols are essential aspects of this position to produce high-quality components. This is an associate to hire role in Springfield, MO.
CNC Machine Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Study blueprints and layout sheets to determine machining to be done, dimensions of parts permissible tolerances, and plans sequence of operations
- Visualize movement of machine parts, work pieces, and tools in each operation in relation to others and decide on station and timing of each operation to ensure efficient use of tools and time
- Select cutting speeds, feed rates, depth of cuts, and cutting tools to be used, based on experience and knowledge of metal properties and shop mathematics, or by referring to tables, charts, or instructions on layout sheets
- Install collets and bushings
- Insert stock into stock feed mechanism
- Mount cutting tools in tool holders on machines and verify their position using gauges and other measuring instruments
- Operate machines through a cycle, adjust tool positions, and machine controls as needed to allow for factors such as timing and clearance between moving parts
- Start, observe, and verify machine conformance of first run and sample work pieces to specifications, using assorted measuring instruments
- Replace worn tools
- Ensure machines are operating and producing quality parts at an efficient rate
- Work with the EHS department to ensure all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies requirements are met; OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA and Amphenol sustainability practices
- Work with the Quality department to ensure all quality standards are met for AS9100 certification
- Comply with company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
CNC Machine Operator Requirements: - Must be experienced with CNC machine operations
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to lift 60 pounds repetitively
