Washington Trust is seeking a strategic and dynamic communications professional to join our Marketing team to expand our Public Relations and communications efforts. We are looking for a strong communicator with a passion for storytelling, to enhance and execute our corporate narrative strategy. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute strategic internal and external communications plans to enhance the company's brand visibility and build confidence internally and externally. Manage all public relations activities, including media relations, outreach, inquiries, and contact lists. Craft compelling press releases for media and SEO, pitch stories, coordinate media appearances, and manage crisis communications plans. Focus on several key audiences including employees, customers, media, the local community, shareholders and the investment community. Contribute to the content calendar, generating engaging narratives through blogs, company storytelling, employee profiles, and more to generate publicity. Monitor public sentiment, social media, and industry trends to identify storytelling opportunities. Develop content for shareholder communications such as annual reports, presentation decks, press releases, earnings calls, and the investor relations website. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 10 years in Strategic Communications, Public Relations or a related field. Ability to disseminate and communicate financial information to diverse audiences. Superior written, oral, and presentation skills. Proven ability to collaborate with financial teams and clearly communicate with executive management. Demonstrated ability to handle crisis communications and sensitive financial disclosures with professionalism and discretion. Investor relations and/or financial services sector experience at a public company is a plus. This position is hybrid with an anticipated 2-3 days on site in Westerly, RI per week.
