About the Role
The Company is in search of a full-time Executive Director to lead the organization in its mission to advance social work research and evidence-based practice. The successful candidate will be the chief executive, responsible for strategic execution, fostering partnerships, and ensuring the operational and financial integrity of the organization. This role requires a visionary and collaborative leader with a strong background in nonprofit leadership, association management, or academic/research-based organizations. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors, the Association Management firm, and the Director of Membership and Conference Planning to oversee all aspects of the organization, including the Annual Conference. Key responsibilities include providing leadership aligned with the mission, serving as a trusted partner to the Board, and leading efforts in operational excellence, membership growth, research capacity building, and communication enhancement. The ideal candidate for the Executive Director position at the company will have a graduate degree in social work or a related social science, with a preference for experience in social work or social science research. Familiarity with the academic and professional landscape of social work is essential. The role demands excellent communication, relationship-building, strategic thinking, and financial acumen. The candidate should be proficient in technology, skilled in leading through change, and have experience in events management. The Executive Director will also be responsible for leading the fundraising strategy and diversifying revenue streams.
