WellMed, is currently seeking individuals who are passionate about patients and committed to acquiring the knowledge and skills required to be a Medical Assistant. These opportunities are for ALL individuals, even those with NO prior healthcare experience.
The program includes a paid, intensive, ten-week class session. After the classroom portion, the apprentices will receive paid On-the-Job training to fully support their transition into the role. Apprentices are full-time employees with benefits from the first day of the program.
Our Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program is 18 months long which includes a paid, intensive, ten-week class session. Apprentices are full-time employees with benefits from the first day of the program and will be eligible to maintain employment beyond the apprenticeship with the organization. (This program is not intended for individuals currently certified as a Medical Assistant with the National Healthcare Association.)
THE TRAINING IS PROVIDED AT NO COST to the participants and will prepare them to take the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant exam (CCMA) to become Certified Clinical Medical Assistants.

The Medical Assistant Apprentice (MA) is responsible for performing patient-oriented procedures under the direction and supervision of a clinician, RN, or LVN to ensure safe and appropriate patient care. The MA assists the clinician with minor medical and surgical procedures; performs a broad spectrum of clerical and administrative duties related to the delivery of patient care assistance.

The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $24.42 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
