Job Description
Desert Testing Services provides Forensic Phlebotomy Services/Blood Evidence Collection to law enforcement agencies in the East Valley. We are currently seeking a Part-Time Mobile Phlebotomist to work dayshift (6am-6pm) during the week, and nightshift (6pm-6am) on the weekends. We work an on-call schedule, meaning we stay home or close to home during our working hours until we are called. When we get call, we report to the location to obtain a blood sample, when finished we return home until the next call. Since we are a mobile service, you must have a reliable & economical vehicle, with current registration and insurance. This is a W-2 position (no 1099). We are paid $30-$50 per blood draw, depending on the customer and location, and we are paid a gas stipend of $20 per shift.
Due to our client base, you must be an EXPERT-level Phlebotomist (or RN or EMT), with formal phlebotomy education, to include a graduation certificate. You must have a minimum of 3000 sticks in your career, and you must have drawn blood within the last 90 days. Prior experience in an Emergency Room is preferred. New grads are not eligible for this position, due to the amount of difficult sticks we encounter. You must be able to pass a fingerprint-based background check, be able to read, write, and speak clearly in English, and you must be able to work with little supervision. You must live in Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, or Gilbert. We have many customers throughout the East Valley, as well as Pinal County, and we need to respond to those locations in a certain amount of time, so location is very important.
This job is not easy, physically or mentally, but it's very interesting! You will see things that most people don't get to see, both good & bad, but it's a great opportunity to truly make a difference. Desert Testing Services is a female-owned company, and I've worked very hard to build the stellar reputation we have. The culture of my company and the character of its employees must compliment each other. Honesty, reliability, and the ability to perform your job successfully in difficult circumstances and locations are critical traits for this position. What we do is extremely important, both for individuals suspected of crimes and the arresting agencies.
