We are currently seeking a Patient Transporter to support our clinic in El Cajon, CA. This position, reporting to the Transportation Director, is an excellent opportunity for someone excited to make an immediate and lasting impact in a growing company.

Position Overview:

We're looking for an outgoing and friendly person who loves to drive to be our Patient Transporter. Excellent customer service, hospitality and driving skills are critical as you will be providing patients with transportation from their homes to the Revive Pathway Clinic and back home on a daily basis.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates patience and compassion since our clinic often sees patients when they are feeling their worst. It is important that our staff believe in our patients so they can learn to believe in themselves. A non-judgmental approach is key.

While a kind heart is a requirement, an organized mind is also needed for this position.

As Patient Transporter you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Transport patients from their places of residence in San Diego County and specifically the El Cajon surrounding area to Revive Pathway and back home on a daily basis.
• Ensures that patient transportation is conducted with the utmost care and in full compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
• Complete daily safety checks of all vehicles and maintain operational records of maintenance and safety checks.
• Instructs passengers in requisite safety precautions and practices while being transported.
• Establishes and maintains communication with patients and coworkers to improve quality of service and customer satisfaction.
• Comforts patients and their families by offering support and encouragement; being punctual and attentive to procedure schedules; demonstrating caring and cultural sensitivity.
• Respects and protects patient confidence and confidentiality.
• Follows all protocols and procedures to ensure safe delivery of patients and their possessions.
• Reports all passenger behavior issues to management.

This role is crucial to our patients success in the program as accessing the clinic on a daily basis is very challenging for many of our patients. If you are committed to providing great customer service, are an excellent driver, and like to help people, we look forward to speaking with you.

Minimum Requirements:

• 21 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or equivalent to diploma.
• Must be extremely reliable and punctual.
• Possess a valid California State Drivers license Class C endorsement to pass DOT MCSA 5876 and MCSA 5875 and meet eligibility requirements for insurance coverage.
• No DUI convictions within the last 15 years.
• Provide proof of a clean driving record.
• Effective communication; written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.
• Tribal affiliation a plus!

Applicants must have:

• Ability to pass extensive criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening, and provide proof of Covid vaccination
• Ability to complete First Aid and CPR certification within the first 60 days of employment.
• Ability to provide health and TB clearance.

Preferred Requirements:

• 1-2 years or more in medical/ or non-medical transport, passenger transport, or relevant role preferred

• Assist patients with disabilities on and off the transportation vehicle.
• Complete transportation data tracking forms to log number of patients driven daily, daily no shows, and other grant related data tracking as needed
• Complete and document daily vehicle inspections.
• Complete weekly, monthly, or quarterly vehicle cleaning and service visits for regular vehicle maintenance.
• Work under the supervision of the Transportation Director and communicate any safety concerns in real time as well as any required incident reports.
• Communicate any patient related concerns to the Transportation Director and Clinic Director.

Specific vision abilities required by this classification include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities required by this classification includes those which permit the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person, by telephone. While performing the duties of this classification, the employee works in an office setting where the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must also analyze and evaluate situations and adopt effective courses of action.
