Job Description

Are you passionate about coordinating smooth releases, ensuring quality, and driving improvement in a fast-paced technical product organization? If so, we are seeking a skilled and detailed Release Manager to join our product support team. You will own the release calendar, processes, and standards for feature deployments, partnering with product managers to ensure smooth releases, mitigate risks, and meet quality and reliability goals. You will be responsible for managing the schedule of deployments and their adherence to processes and policies to ensure quality and reliability goals are met for our customers.

The pay range for this position In Western Washington varies between $81,900.00 - $116,550.00, and for Eastern Washington varies between $67,470.00 - $96,015.00. Washington Dental Service and its affiliates, including Arcora Foundation, Delta Dental of Washington, and TriForza intends to offer the selected candidate a base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay will also be adjusted based on the candidate's geographic location.

Essential Responsibilities include the following:

Define and maintain release processes, standards, and recommended practices, including release flow, release testing, notes management, test to production environment management, and automation and deployment processes. Collaborate with product managers to create and maintain release plans, including feature prioritization, scheduling, and resource allocation. Coordinate release activities across multiple teams and departments to ensure seamless execution of product releases. Manage releases to reduce and prevent negative impact on service availability, system performance, and defect/rework. Partner with Change Manager, DevOps Engineers, and Software Engineers to ensure release notes are accurate and properly tested and signed off before deployment. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions during releases. Supervise the progress of releases, identifying and resolving issues and bottlenecks. Communicate release status, risks, and dependencies to partners, tenants, and senior management, ensuring communications are standardized and effective for customers to plan. Develop and maintain release documentation standards for including release notes, deployment guides, and post-release reports. Continuously improve release management processes by finding opportunities for automation and optimization. Develop a culture of collaboration, accountability, and quality within the product management teams. Experience, skills, and education do you need to have to succeed in the position:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, Business, etc.). 2+ years and demonstrable experience as a Release Manager or in a similar role in the software industry. 2+ years in software development and Solid grasp of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and release management standard processes. Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to lead multiple releases simultaneously. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multi-functional teams. Problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions quickly. Experience with release management tools and version control systems is a plus. Certification in Agile, Scrum, or related areas is a plus.
