A bit about us: We are building the commerce platform for the AI age. The web continues to be the most profitable customer acquisition channel for selling goods and services. Over the past two decades, SaaS products like Squarespace and Shopify have dominated online commerce. They've made it easier to set up an online store, but at their core, they're just CRUD apps built on top of payment processors. You still have to design and build the shop, make ads, write copy, analyze data, and keep iterating until you find a channel that works. This often means spending millions on design, development, marketing, copywriting, ad buying, and more.

We launched in late 2022 and grew to over 1000+ paying customers, in under a year with no sales or marketing budget. To date, we’ve raised over $8.4M in seed from Figma, YCombinator, Vercel, General Catalyst, Infinity Ventures, MAGIC Fund, Base Case Capital. We're headquartered in San Francisco.

Who We Need
We are looking for a Backend Engineer with 4+ years of experience (up to 10-11 years). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Kafka, ClickHouse, and event-driven architectures. We need a "frontline firefighter" who has managed systems at scale (thousands/millions of users) and someone who has experienced the full lifecycle of scaling analytics/event-processing infrastructure.
What Disqualifies Candidates
- Less than 4 years of experience or limited to companies with only dozens of customers.
- Engineers from large public companies who lack hands-on building experience.
- Lack of CS fundamentals required for distributed systems.
- No direct experience with real-time event processing.

Ideal Candidate Background
- CS or STEM degree preferred (or equivalent additional experience).
- From pre-Series D startups that built similar systems.
- Worked at companies like Amplitude, Twilio, Stripe, PostHog, or Sentry.
- Has balanced system reliability with business/product needs.
- Can architect solutions that scale with rapid user growth.
Tech Stack: Typescript, Node.Js, Kafka, Clickhouse, Cloudflare, Next.Js, React
Key Signals
- Has managed systems through unexpected failures and learned valuable lessons.
- Can speak to specific technical challenges they've overcome with Kafka or similar technologies.
- Shows deep understanding of distributed systems principles and failure modes.
- Can translate between technical infrastructure and business needs.
