Job Title: Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator Consultant

Location: Annapolis, MD (Hybrid)

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualification

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's or higher degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field (as defined by the AOC).
• A valid Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification, issued by Red Hat and including the certification number.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience as a Red Hat system administrator.
• 10+ years of experience managing Unix (AIX) systems on IBM pSeries.
• 15+ years of overall experience in the IT field.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Proven ability to work in complex network environments with strong networking knowledge.
• Expertise with Unix (AIX) on IBM pSeries.
• Experience administering a variety of platforms and tools, including:
• Oracle WebLogic, Oracle Databases
• Progress 4GL/OpenEdge
• Apache Web Servers, vSphere-hosted RHEL
• Rubrik backups, Oracle Database backups
• PeopleSoft, Mobius, Elastic Search
• Oracle OBI, CVS (Concurrent Version System)
• Strong background in:
• Performance tuning, load balancing, and disaster recovery
• 24/7 system availability support
• Application development and Red Hat Support
• Electronic Imaging systems

Additional Competencies:

• Ability to work effectively in team-based environments and communicate clearly.
• Demonstrated leadership and troubleshooting skills across OS, application, and database levels.
• Knowledge of backup/recovery strategies and networking practices.
• Proficient in Red Hat configuration and tuning.

Responsibilities:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems across development, testing, and production environments.
• Performing system upgrades, applying security patches, and ensuring systems meet compliance standards.
• Monitoring system health, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing performance.
• Automating administrative tasks using tools like Ansible, Bash, or Python.
• Managing tools such as Red Hat Satellite and Identity Management (IdM).
• Collaborating with security teams to maintain system security and policy compliance.
• Administering storage, backups, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Assisting application teams by offering best practices for Linux deployments.
• Maintaining up-to-date documentation on configurations and procedures.
• Participating in on-call rotations and incident response efforts.
• Setting up NFS (Network File System) servers and managing mount points.
• Creating and managing cron jobs for system and application-level tasks.
