Position Summary:

The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for overseeing complex accounting tasks, including financial recordkeeping, preparing financial statements, governmental audits, conducting analysis, and providing guidance to junior staff, often focusing on a specific area of accounting within a company, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards

performance and ensure effective and consistent support and execution.

• Identifies training needs and ensures proper training is developed and

implemented

Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

• Financial Statement Preparation: Preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. 
• Complex Journal Entries: Posting and reviewing complex journal entries for various transactions, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and depreciation. 
• Account Reconciliation: Reconciling bank statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other key balance sheet accounts. 
• Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential risks, providing insights to management for decision-making. 
• Internal Controls: Maintaining and improving internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. 
• Audit Support: Assisting external auditors with their review process by preparing supporting documentation and responding to inquiries. 
• Mentorship and Training: Providing guidance and training to junior accounting staff on accounting procedures and best practices. 
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Participating in the budgeting process by providing financial data and assisting with forecasting future financial performance. 
• Tax Preparation: May be involved in preparing tax returns or supporting tax calculations.
• Confidentiality: Maintain sensitive financial information private and secure.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in agricultural operations.
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) with current license is required

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet applications
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with high accuracy standards
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Proven experience in a senior accounting role 

This position reports to the CFO

This position may encompass other duties than the specified duties listed above. If necessary, alternative duties can be assigned at the discretion of the direct supervisor.

Pay Range (Low $110,000 to Max $140,000 year) Salary.
