Bay Area Reconstructive Healthcare is a legacy private practice dating back to the beginning of gender affirming surgery. The practice is led by two surgeons, Dr. Marci Bowers and Dr. Sven Gunther. We specialize in a variety of gender affirming surgeries, such as facial feminization, body contouring, masculinizing genital surgery, feminizing genital surgery, top surgery, breast augmentation and aesthetics. We also offer Clitoral Restoration procedures for patients who have experienced Female Genital Mutilation.

Our practice is patient forward, focusing on delivering inclusive and compassionate healthcare.

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Surgery Scheduler at Bay Area Reconstructive Healthcare located at our clinic in Burlingame, CA. The Surgery Scheduler will be responsible for surgery scheduling, insurance verification, phone etiquette, and using medical terminology in a professional clinic setting.

Qualifications

• Surgery scheduling and insurance verification skills.
• Proficient in medical terminology and medical office procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication, time management, and client/customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and highly detail oriented.
• Knowledge of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ+) and other sexual and gender minority (SGM) communities.
• Ability to work with sexual, gender, and racial/ethnic minority and other marginalized populations and be empathetic.
• Ability to work independently to meet expected deadlines and schedules.
• Ability to establish priorities, manage shifting priorities, and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines.
• Comfortable in an active clinic environment - cleaning and setting up exam rooms.
• Experience with EMR systems, CareCloud is a plus.
• Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
• Minimum of high school diploma, associate degree preferred.
