A Tow Truck Dispatcher plays a crucial role in coordinating towing services and ensuring that operations run smoothly. Their job duties and responsibilities include:
Dispatching Tow Trucks:
Receiving and processing service requests for towing or roadside assistance.
Assigning the appropriate tow truck to each job based on location, availability, and type of service needed.
Managing Communication:
Serving as the main point of contact for drivers, customers, and service partners.
Communicating job details clearly to tow truck drivers and providing updates as needed.
Handling customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
Coordinating with Drivers:
Ensuring tow truck drivers are promptly dispatched to their assigned locations.
Monitoring driver status and ensuring timely responses to service requests.
Managing and tracking the progress of multiple jobs simultaneously.
Tracking Vehicle Locations:
Using GPS or dispatch software to monitor the location and status of vehicles and drivers in real time.
Adjusting dispatch assignments based on changing conditions like traffic, weather, or vehicle breakdowns.
Scheduling and Prioritizing:
Managing daily schedules for tow trucks to ensure there are no gaps in coverage.
Prioritizing jobs based on urgency (accidents, breakdowns, etc.) and scheduling non-urgent requests accordingly.
Managing Paperwork and Records:
Maintaining accurate records of all service requests, assignments, and completed jobs.
Ensuring that any necessary paperwork for insurance, billing, or legal purposes is handled correctly.
Handling Emergencies:
Quickly and efficiently handling emergency situations, ensuring the appropriate resources are dispatched in critical cases.
Customer Service:
Ensuring high customer satisfaction by providing clear communication and support during the service request process.
Handling complaints or issues, and offering resolutions when necessary.
Managing Logistics:
Coordinating with other departments (e.g., billing, maintenance) for seamless operations.
Ensuring all equipment and vehicles are in good working condition and scheduling maintenance when needed.
Safety Compliance:
Ensuring that all activities follow safety regulations and company policies.
Keeping track of safety reports and ensuring drivers comply with road safety rules.
Handling Payments and Invoices:
Processing payments for services rendered (either from customers or insurance companies).
Coordinating with accounting for accurate invoicing and billing.
This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to handle high-pressure situations, and excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks at once.
Hours are Monday - Friday - 40 hours a week
Pay is based on experience
